About Sugar

The name Sugarite derives from either the Comanche or Ute name for a bird found in the canyon or the Spanish name, Chicorica, for “chicory”, a plant found here. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 2 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels. 2 have designated parking (2 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by DNR Division of Parks and Trails.
