About Star
Bright Star Canyon encloses Kelso Creek and leaves Sequoia National Forest to cross the southern portion of the Bureau of Land Management's Bright Star Wilderness. In the northwestern portion, Cortez Canyon has been carved out of the Kelso Mountains. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 3 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 5 have designated parking (3 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by DNR Division of Parks and Trails.
