About Snelling Lake

Minnesota Valley Wetland Management District, established in 1988, is a 14-county district located in the transition zone between northern tallgrass prairie and eastern deciduous forest. The district manages more than 10,000 acres of land dedicated to wildlife and wildlife-dependent recreation, including more than 30 waterfowl production areas and more than 50 easements. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 2 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 2 ramps are ADA accessible, and 4 have designated parking (1 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by DNR Division of Parks and Trails.
