About Rice Lake

Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge is located in Aitkin County in east central Minnesota, about five miles south of the community of McGregor. It was established in 1935 to preserve valuable habitat for waterfowl. Ramp surfaces include 4 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 gravel ramps, 6 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 2 ramps are ADA accessible. Ramps are managed by Forestry, Land & Recreation Dept., Kettle Moraine State Forest - South. Unit, LCO Tribal, and others.
