Running parallel to the Pacific Ocean for nine miles, New River is separated from the ocean by only a thin strip of sand. Many rare birds, animals and plants depend on New River's estuary, forest, meadow, wetland, and shrub habitat for survival. Ramp surfaces include 6 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels. 6 ramps are ADA accessible, and 6 have designated parking (6 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by NC WRC, ONSLOW COUNTY, CITY OF JACKSONVILLE.
