About Mille Lacs
Mille Lacs National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1915 and is the smallest refuge in the National Wildlife Refuge System at 0. 57 acres. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 8 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 1 gravel ramp, 4 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 10 have designated parking (8 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by Aitkin County, City of Wahkon, DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife, and others.
