About Lake Michigan
The project is located in the northeast portion of Wisconsin in the middle of The Door County peninsula. The ship canal is used as a shortcut for vessels using the ports of Green Bay and Menominee. Ramp surfaces include 19 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 gravel ramps, 2 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 6 ramps are ADA accessible. Ramps are managed by Algoma Marina, Dept. Public Works, Door County Parks Dept., and others.
