About Lake Michigan
The project is located in the northeast portion of Wisconsin in the middle of The Door County peninsula. The ship canal is used as a shortcut for vessels using the ports of Green Bay and Menominee. Ramp surfaces include 17 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 16 have designated parking (16 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by County, DNR-FRD, DNR-PRD, and others. Live water level data is available from 3 USGS gauges near Lake Michigan.
