About Island Lake Reservoir
The 16,697-acre Lake Superior Reserve is a combination of four distinct land areas and portions of connecting waterways in Douglas County, in the northwest corner of Wisconsin where the St. Louis River flows into Lake Superior. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 3 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels, 2 carry-in launches for kayaks and canoes. 5 have designated parking (3 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by DNR Division of Parks and Trails, Minnesota Power.
