About French

French Springs-Happy Canyon Wilderness Study Area is in eastern Wayne and Garfield Counties. The unit is 25,000 acres and consists of high, narrow ridges and a mesa cut by narrow, sheer-walled, meandering canyons 600 to 1,000 feet deep. All ramps are free to use. Ramp surfaces include 2 paved concrete ramps suitable for larger motorized vessels. 4 have designated parking (4 with trailer parking). Ramps are managed by DNR Division of Parks and Trails.
